Inspiration: Royal Wedding Style (With Bridal Jewellery To Match!)

We are always in awe of royal weddings, for their grandeur, their tradition, and their style. From the wedding ceremonies of decades past, to the present, royal occasions such as these are a feast for the eyes.

More often than not highly traditional affairs, royal weddings offer us a glimpse into grand gowns, long trains, dramatic veils, and of course - those stunning jewels! But even if you do not have the family jewels to pick and choose from when it comes your time to walk down the aisle, you can still take notes from royal style and adopt some of the signatures into your own wedding day ensemble.

From classic teardrop bridal earrings, to heirloom-style pearls, and princess-worthy bridal headpieces, the pieces are all available for you to create a look that wouldn't be out of place in any of the following royal weddings.

Lets take a look at some of the best royal weddings, and match the outfits with some bridal jewellery from our range!

#1 - William & Kate -

One of the most popular royal weddings EVER, we're still as besotted with this fairytale wedding as we were on the day it happened. Dressed in Alexander McQueen, and channelling Grace Kelly, Kate looks every bit the princess (Duchess). We love her classic teardrop bridal earrings, and petite tiara. You can shop similar bridal earrings here.

#2 - Princess Caroline of Monaco -

There's something about this vintage wedding we can't get enough of. We're not sure if it's the retro vibes or the Princess Leia hairstyle, but the fresh faced Princess Caroline looks like a European dream. We'd style her look with a small pair of pearl stud earrings to not detract from the veil adornment. You can shop our recommendation for pearl bridal earrings here.

#3 - Princess Victoria of Sweden -

We love the pared back elegance of this royal wedding dress, with a tasteful off-the-shoulder neckline and completely princess-y A-line skirt. We are not adverse to the amazing royal crown (or is it a tiara?) either! Created out of what looks to be a beautiful satin, in a shape that enhances the body without being too tight, this is the pinnacle of contemporary royal wedding style. As Princess Victoria's bridal jewellery is rather understated (other than that gorgeous headpiece), we think she could afford to play up her ears or wrists with a tasteful pair of bridal earrings or bridal bracelet as well. We've linked the two styles we think work the best.

#4 - Princess Diana -

The ultimate fantasy wedding of all time, we could not be looking at bridal inspiration without including this most beautiful occasion in our round-up. Diana's wedding dress, of epic proportions, and full of decadent 80's glory, would overpower most items of jewellery! While her heavy veil shields her face, we'd suggest a pair of wedding earrings and a dainty bridal pendant as the perfect finishing touches for her look. The Claudine bridal earrings and the Annaleise Bridal Pendant look like winning choices to us.

#5 - Princess Ekaterina of Hanover

This gorgeous bridal gown with full skirt, sleeves, and opulent beadwork is a great example of royal wedding style. Pure luxury and class, it is a fresh take on a traditional gown. Princess Ekaterina's bridal headpiece is stunning, so we would match this with a small pair of teardrop bridal earrings or bridal stud earrings with a classic bridal bracelet.
